HMRC Overseas Trade Statistics

UK HMRC publishes a monthly extract of all companies which have exported or imported goods into or out of the EU. This contains some company details such as name and address, as well as the commodity code of the good which has been imported/exported. FullCircl consumes this data as soon as it is published and matches it to registered companies in order to enable discovery of companies with international exposure.

Further ad hoc or static base data we have use of to power our features:

Ordnance Survey (OS)

Ordnance Survey (OS) is the national mapping agency for Great Britain and is one of the world’s largest producers of maps. FullCircl sources a variety of geographical datasets directly from OS including but not limited to postcode regions, neighbourhoods, towns, cities and counties. This data is used to power location-based company search.

Crawled Web Content

In addition to a sophisticated in-house pipeline which matches websites to registered companies, FullCircl also extracts a wide range of unstructured data from the matched websites. That data is patched to feed into the product. This includes contact information, company logos, trading/alias names, social media links and FullCircl proprietary industry keywords, which power the industry classification search results.

Twitter

FullCircl collects and provides links to matched Twitter profiles for registered companies, as well as incorporating Twitter feeds for those companies on their profile pages.

LinkedIn

FullCircl collects and provides links to matched LinkedIn profiles for both registered company and director entities.

Wikipedia

FullCircl consumes the entire data set of Wikipedia articles and matches them to registered companies. This data is also used in the generation of FullCircl’s industry keywords which power the industry classification search results.

The Charity Commission

The Charity Commission is the official charity registrar and regulator for England and Wales. It maintains the register of charities which collects and makes available official charity filings including details of charity financials, trustees, activities, objectives, jurisdictions of operation, contact details and more.

WHOIS

WHOIS is a query and response protocol that is widely used for querying databases that store the registered users or assignees of an Internet resource, such as a domain name or an IP address block. FullCircl uses this information in our proprietary URL matching pipeline, to generate candidate website matches – to registered companies – before verifying or rejecting these matches based on additional data points.
