“A strong, diverse workforce is fundamental to business success. When leadership reflects the society it serves, companies are better equipped to understand their customers, drive innovation and deliver long-term sustainable growth. And if business does not employ the full breadth of society, it will not benefit from all the talent available.” Sir Robin Budenberg, Chair of Lloyds Banking Group, 25th February 2025.
We’re delighted to announce that our ever-popular Ivy Lunch Series is back. This time we’re talking about “accelerating action” - driving meaningful change and greater investment for women in business.
After all, it’s not just the right thing to do - it’s essential to innovation, growth and long-term success. As well as the creation of a strong and dynamic economy.
Accelerating Action
The theme of International Women’s Day 2025 is how we can collectively, #AccelerateAction for gender equality.
Shockingly, at the current rate of progress it will take until 2158 (roughly five generations from now) to reach full gender parity, according to data from the World Economic Forum.
Progress is being made, such as the forthcoming Employment Rights Bill which is set to further strengthen women’s rights in the workplace. But we all must play our part.
Focusing on the need to Accelerate Action emphasises the importance of taking swift and decisive steps to achieve gender equality. It calls for increased momentum and urgency in addressing the systemic barriers and biases that women face, both in personal and professional spheres.
That’s why aligning with this theme we’ve pulled together a stellar line up of extraordinary female speakers to drive debate, thought leadership, and action when it comes to:
- Breaking down barriers to effective, equitable leadership
- Creating pathways to leadership
- Driving diversity of decision making
- Creating cultures where women can thrive
- Empowering female voices
- Driving up the representation of women in decision making roles
- Unlocking more opportunities for women at the very highest levels of business
- Improving gender equality in the boardroom
